Hydraulic Scissor Lift Attachments - The scissor lift, often known as a platform lift, is an industrial lift that has been tailored for use in wholesale and retail environments. Mechanized platform lifts have been used for decades within the manufacturing and production industries to efficiently hoist and lower people, materials and gear. The scissor lift is a platform with wheels that operates like a forklift. It is useful for tasks that demand the mobility and speed of transporting people and materials into the air.

Scissor lifts can reach anywhere from 6.5 to 18.8 meters or 21 to 62 feet when fully extended. It is not like other models of forklifts that utilize a straight support to raise its platform, rather it has folding supports directly beneath the platform that come together to stretch the platform upwards. Offered with either an electric or hydraulic motor, the scissor lift offers a bumpy ride due to the lift's construction that keeps it from roaming with a constant velocity. Instead, it travels more rapidly in the middle of its journey and slows down with added extension.

The initial scissor lifts were initially created in the 1970's. Sizable upgrades in safety and materials have been made ever since then, but the basic model is still utilized. A relative to the forklift, the scissor lift grew to become known for its portability and effectiveness, also becoming popular as they were the only industrial platforms that could be easily retracted to fit into the corner of an office. Contemporary scissor lifts are presently used in just about all areas of production and manufacturing. Used in the construction industry successfully on an uneven terrain and commonly used indoors among warehouses to vehicle repair, these apparatus complete a diverse workload.
